Restyled and Remixed

* Sweater - Old Navy * Pants - Victoria Secrets c/o MJR Sales   * Belt - H&M *

Red and pink color-blocking strikes again!  I know you guys remember this outfit and this one as well.  What can I say this is my favorite color-blocking combination.  I decided to pull out these pants that I have only worn once  and create another red and pink color-blocking outfit.   I always feel Wendy Williams tall when I wear these pants, lol.

I purchased these pants after seeing Eboni (The Fashionista Next Door) rock her pair here.   At the time I wasn't too keen on spending $69 for a pair of pants so I checked out MJR sales which is known to carry Victoria Secrets clothing at majorly discounted prices.  Most of the items are defective or store returns, which is always stated on the listing.  After stalking the site for a few weeks I was able to get my pants for about $25 with no defects *happy dance*.

This will more then likely be my last outfit post for the year.  I will probably have a few random post here and there, not much since I will be on vacation.  I will be sure to post about my very first BLM Girls Meetup I am attending this Sunday in Raleigh, hosted by the lovely Ashley of FabEllis.  I can't wait to meet all the lovely NC that will be attending.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Years, I hope to see lots pictures of fabulous holiday outfits and family gatherings next week.

Holiday Cocktail Attire

 * Dress - H&M * Gold Collar - H&M * Belt - H&M * Shoes - Betsy Johnson * Clutch - F21 *

Me and Dionne

This past weekend I had the opportunity to party with Urban League of Broward County Young Professionals Network (YPN), at their Night Under the Stars holiday party.  My blogging boo Dionne (The Prissy Shopper) is the Vice President of the board and I was more then happy to get gussied up and show my support.

Of course I waited until the last minute to decided what to wear, however I decided no matter what I would not buy anything new! Surprisingly, I stuck to my word, the only item that I purchased was my chain belt (worn backwards) from H&M.  Oh and if you live in the Miami area be sure to check out the new H&M at Aventura Mall.

I always stress over getting dressed for social events but once I decided that I wouldn't run out and buy something  my outfit came together fairly easy.  I stuck with what I like which is simple sophistication.  This blue H&M dress alone was a winner, the pleating detail on the front already made it stand out by adding my gold accessories I took it from nice to wow.  I knew I wanted to wear shoes that were cute and more on the comfortable side, of course I selected my bow front pumps by Betsy Johnson.  Lastly, I wanted my stand out piece to be my clutch which is super old but served its purpose.

I learned a long time ago that's it is always better to dress in what makes you feel good, once you do that everything else falls into place.

P.S. this dress is still available in store, it also comes in white/black and pink/burgundy.

Sophisticated Spots

* Blazer - Zara * Peplum - Forever 21 * Skirt - Target * Wedges - Nine West *

I am not sure what print this skirt is suppose to be...leopard, cheetah, or giraffe, lol.  After wanting a leopard print skirt forever I grabbed this from Target about a month ago.  This damn skirt stretched out to about three times it's size by the time I got home last night.  I picked up a medium because ya'll know I love that fitted look but was very disappointed with the outcome.  Eboni (The Fashionista Next Door)  seemed to have the same issue with the pants version of this skirt here.

I loved the print but was disappointed with the over all outcome, money wasted!

Weekend Wear: Pretty Pleats

* Dress - Forever 21 * Sandals - Target * Earrings - * Bracelets - Gifted *

This weekend wear post is super late, my weekend flew by and before I knew it I was waking up this morning thinking it was Sunday, don't you hate that, lol.  The weather in Miami this weekend was amazing. I was able to take these beautiful pictures after breakfast on Saturday which was suppose to be a beach day but I ended up getting a case of the lazies.  So how was your weekend, I hope you all were much more productive then I was, lol.

The New Normal

* Blazer - H&M * Tank - H&M * Jeans - Levis Curve ID * Booties - Guess * Purse - H&M *

I have wanted a yellow blazer for the LONGEST time, and finally on a recent visit to H&M I found one.  This blazer is such a bold statement piece which meshes well with my love for black and white.  Ya'll know I love wearing a cute blazer and I believe my collection might be at 36 or 38.  Even when I think I have every color imaginable I see a blazer that catches my eye and must come home with me.

Having 38 blazers probably seems crazy but I prefer clothing that can pull double duty (work and play) so for me throwing on a blazer always seems to make my outfit complete.  Just two years ago I probably owned one blazer which was reserved for job interviews, lol.  I have changed so much since I have started blogging, it amazes me sometimes.  I was that girl that always second guessed everything I wore and would never try trends because I thought I was was too curvy.  You wouldn't dare catch me in anything bright...white jeans, nope! Shorts, nope! A form fitting dress, HELL NO!  I am so glad I grew out of that, blogging has really helped me find my self...Shea 2.0.   I am really liking my new normal.

For those of you that blog have you ever gone back to the beginning and noticed how far you have come from where you started.  What is the one thing that you love about your progression so far?
