Fab Find Friday: Bow Front Sandals

I am a diehard internet shopper.  I rarely venture to the mall or stores to buy clothes anymore.  I really like the convenience of having everything come to me! So with that being said I always come across some amazing deals, so from now on I am going to share them with you guys.  I mean who doesn't love a good deal, right?

This week's find is the amazing Betsey Johnson Haylie.  If you follow me on Instagram you know that I purchased these lovely ladies back in May.  However, once receiving them I was dissatisfied with the quality of the shoe I received from Macy's and used my twitter to voice my displeasure.  Macy's immediately contacted me and sent out a new pair; however I still wasn't in love.  I figured at this point I should just go to the store and see if could find something better, which I did.  I instantly feel in love with the vibrant royal blue color, but they could only find one shoe! So I gave up and left the store disappointed.

Fast forward to this week, I decided to order my birthday dress, and figured I would try to find the Haylie once again.  So after a quick check of my usual stores, I found her at Dillards for $45.49, the shoe was marked down 65%.  Of course I immediately ordered them; I can't wait to wear these little ladies on my birthday.

When I wasn’t able to find the Haylie I decided to search for a replacement which I happened upon the Luichiny Rest up.  I like this shoe but I knew that platform would be a little too much for me and wouldn't be work suitable.  However this shoe is a hot little number and the price isn't bad either.

I know for most of you summer will be over soon so buying sandals might not be practical but here in Miami we probably won't see cooler temperatures until early November if then. So which do you guys prefer the Haylie which is less demure or the Luichiny which is va-va-voom?

Thank you to Carsedra of Embracing The Real Me for letting me know about the Dollhouse Flaunt Bow Platform! This looks just like the Luichiny but is almost half the cost!

Highs and Low's

* Blazer - Forever 21 * Tank - Target * Skirt - Target * Belt - Forever 21 * Wedges - Nine West *

Tarjay strikes again!  When I purchased this skirt (back in May) I wanted every color, however I knew logically I would only get one.  I didn't think I would ever like anything high-low but once I spotted this skirt in Target I knew it would be perfect and I was right.  I love how flowy it is, I feel like am walking on a runway when ever the slightest breeze blows, lol.  Another trend conquered!

The jury is still out on these wedges, I keep trying to make myself like them! Ugh...I wish I would have read this blog post by the fabulous Prissy Shopper before making this purchase.  It's all about staying true to your brand.  I think I might take them to my shoe guy and have them dye the snakeskin black or something.

Google Reader Organization

Hey guys! This post is a little different today.  Yesterday a discussion came up on the BLM (Bloggers Like Me) Group on Facebook about blog reading and organization.  More specifically Miss Rockwell of Lifestyles of the Thrift and Shameless asked:
How in THEE WORLD do you all keep up with all of the great blogs listed here in addition to the blogs that you were reading on a daily basis (before this group launched). Do you all have a specific strategy scheduling a block of time to read, reading regular blogs on Mondays, BLM blogs on Tuesdays? I'm seriously struggling here. Responses PLEASE!!!

My response was that I only read blogs through my Google Reader and I took the time to organize them into specific folders for easy reading.  This has helped me so much, before  everything was all over the place and jumbled together.  I prefer Google Reader because it allows you to  subscribe to a blog via Google Friend Connect or RSS feed.  If the blog doesn't have an RSS Feed option listed you can still subscribe via the bookmark tab in Fire Fox, for those that use Fire Fox.  So let's get to it!

This first picture is a snapshot of how my Google Reader looks when I log in.  As you can see on the left hand side all my subscriptions are organized in folders.

To begin making folders for your subscriptions click the small arrow to the right of the word "Subscriptions",  a menu should drop down.  Select "manage subscriptions" which is located at the very bottom of the menu.

Selecting "mange subscriptions" will take you to the settings page that lists all of your current subscriptions in alphabetical order.  As you can see I currently subscribe to over 500 blogs, yikes! From this page you have the option to rename a subscription, as well as delete the subscription from your Google Reader.

You can start creating folders for your subscriptions by selecting the "Add to folder/change folder option" located to the right of each subscription.  If you do not have folders already included on your Google Reader the option will read "Add to Folder" and the only selection that will appear is on the drop down menu is "New Folder" .

A small box will appear allowing you to input the name of your new folder.  You can go through each subscription and place them in folders according to your liking.  It took me a couple of hours to go through each of my subscriptions.  The hard part was actually remembering what each subscription was and putting them in the right folder.

Once you have everything organized you can view your folders by clicking the "Folders and Tags" tab, you can also rename them from this page.

Now this is the fun part, actually reading your subscriptions.  Once you have all your folders situated go back to your Google Reader.  You can take things one step further and set the viewing options for each of your folders.  Start by clicking on a folder from your subscriptions listed to the left in your Google Reader, in the picture below I have selected the folder Fashion Bloggers.  Click on  "folder settings" which allows you to view the newest items first or vice verse. As you can see from below I prefer to read my subscriptions in an expanded view.

However you also have the option to view the folder contents in list view, which makes it much easier to scroll through and look for a particular blog. You can change the view by clicking the list button on the right side of your viewing pane.

Whew! I am so not a technical person but I figure this would be helpful to a lot of people that use Google Reader.  If I missed anything or something isn't clear leave me a comment below so I can answer it. I really hope this was helpful, it was fun to do something non fashion related.

Pink and Green Girl

 * Trousers - Oldnavy * Top - NY&Co. * Slingbacks - Guess via Ross * Necklace - Ebay *

Wearing pink always makes me smile; there is something about putting on a bright color that automatically gets me going.  Of course I had to pair my new bubble necklace with pink it only seemed right.   This verse from Wale's "Pretty Girls" came to mind as soon as I thought of the outfit "I got a pink and green girl she don't even fly delta" lol.

Instead of putting on my go to nude Jessica Simpson pumps I finally broke out these snake skin sling-backs I purchased during my vacation to NC in July.  I must admit I had completely forgotten about them.  I am not really a fan of animal print shoes but the cognac leather is what drew me in.  I wish all my outfits came together this easy.  I have been in such a slump lately, I need to shake it off and get my mojo back.

What do you guys do when you feel like you have worn everything you own and nothing is really inspiring you?
