On Target

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

* Dress - Target * Sandals - Target * Purse - TJ Maxx * Bracelests - Gifted * Earrings - Forever 21 *

I hope everyone had a great long weekend.  I went to D.C. to visit my two BFFs.  As usual we had a fantastic time, it was Vs 30th birthday.  I had so much fun at her party on Saturday, I haven't drank that much since Mardi Gras.  After some breakfast and a little rest on Sunday, we went to Rundell Mills where I found lots of goodies.  I scored these DV by Dolce Vita sandals for $39.  I love the color and they are a less expensive option to the DV by Dolce Vita Archer Sandal.  You can also nab these cuties for $14.99 from Target.

Speaking of Target, I scored the dress I am wearing while in D.C. along with this high-low skirt.  I love that they always carry affordable options for the latest trends.  This dress is super cute and comfy.  It also comes in other colors as well.  Target is really helping me build my summer dress wardrobe, every time I am in that store I leave with a dress, lol.

Thanks to V for snapping these pics for me, we had a great lunch at a spot called Oohhs and Aahhs yesterday.  I miss my girls already.

Okay ladies and gents I am off to do the my least favorite part of taking a trip...unpacking.

* Cardigan - Oldnavy * Ruffle halter top - Forever 21 * Skirt - Limited (in store) * Belt - Express *
* Pumps - Chinese Laundry via TJ Maxx *

Who is apprehensive about wearing horizontal stripes? Not me! "They" say bottom heavy women shouldn't wear vertical stripes because they add to your girth.  Well as you can see I don't care about what "they" say because I love stripes! And I am loving the way this skirt is hugging my curves.  I have conquered white jeans and vertical stripes, my next fashion faux pas will be wearing a crop top!  I hear they are only for juniors, lol.

Uniform Of The Day

Friday, May 18, 2012

* Blazer - Forever 21 * Tank - Oldnavy * Jeans - Levis Curve ID * Pumps - Jessica Simpson *

I have my feet kicked up on my ottoman as I type this post.  Game of Thrones is playing in the background and I am waiting for my chocolate chip cookies to finish baking.  If I may say so myself this is a pretty good way to start the weekend.  As you can see I am wearing my usual casual Friday uniform blazer, jeans and heels.

Thanks to Tosha from thecapturedlife.com for giving me some great suggestions on improving my outfit pics.  I think I have been making better use of my balcony.  Make sure you guys check out Tosha's super fab pics, you can access her blog here and her website here.  The photos of the newborns are going to make you melt!

Okay ladies and gents it has been a long week draining week.  Enjoy your weekend!

* Dress - The Limited * Belt - Target * Pumps - Kohl's

I am in love with The Limited, and not because of their clothes but because of their awesome customer service.  I purchased these pants online from them and they arrived yesterday with a stain.  No big deal but I figured I would go to the store and exchange them.  Nelson, the manager of the Aventura store greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed help.  I explained the situation and he informed me they didn't have that particular pant in-stock.  I decided to look around to see if I wanted anything else; the only thing that caught my eye was the dress I am wearing in the pics above.  I could have just returned the pants and ordered another pair but I am too impatient for all that, lol.  Nelson ended up giving me an additional 15% off the pants and also allowed me to use my 15% student discount on top of the 30% I already had for the sale The Limited is currently running on pants.  In the end I ended up paying $26.05 for the pants which were originally $74.90.  In addition to all that the young lady that checked me out steamed the stain out for me!

I don't know about you guys but good customer service is hard to come by these days and I really appreciated Nelson and his staff taking good care of me yesterday.  So after all those discounts I ended up with a store credit.  I decided to scoop up this dress from the clearance rack.  The Limited definitely has a lifetime customer in me, oh and these pants are the business, expect to see a review on them as soon as I have the hem taken out.

Skirting the Issue

* Cardigan (worn backwards) - Nordstrom Rack * Skirt - Forever 21 * T-strap sandals - Steve Madden *
* Ring - Forever 21 * Bracelets - Local store *

I just realized something while editing my pictures this morning, I hardly ever wear pants anymore.  I got rid of all my work pants last year except a few pairs and said I would start over fresh.  Well since then I have purchased maybe three pairs and two of them I have only worn once! I don't like shopping for pants, I guess that's why I don't really have any.  I have yet to come across the perfect fitting dress pant.  I am tired of always having to get my pants altered because they are always too big in the waist.  Why do all that when I can find a beautiful skirt or dress that fits me perfectly.  Summer is approaching anyway I am going to leave the pants for winter and show off these legs!

With all that being said I LOVE the skirt I am wearing today, the length is perfect it has an exposed zipper in the back, it is fully lined and the front pleating is just right.  Oh and it polka dot!

Impromptu Dressing

Thursday, May 10, 2012

 * V-Neck - Zara * Blouse - Thrifted * Knit pants - NY and Co. * Pumps - Call it Spring * Earrings - Forever21 *

Well HELLO!  I have been completely slack on my outfit posting, but of course for good reason, I graduated two weeks ago. *Happy Dance*  I didn’t realize that school consumed so much of my time, but now I have so much time to do WHATEVER.  First things first, I have to get back into my blogging groove, secondly start working out again, third take a sewing class and lastly knock of some of my crochet projects I have neglected.  In between all of those things I will be applying to graduate school and looking for scholarships.  That sounds like a lot but I am happy to stay busying doing things that I love.

So today’s outfit was impromptu, I woke up and threw something on.  Even though it’s starting to warm up here in Miami lately I have been dressing for my office climate.  I really hate being cold, so I decided to layer up today.  Plus we have been plagued afternoon thunderstorms all week.  I am sure this outfit would be really cute with a pair of Hunter rain boots.  Maybe this year I will invest in a pair, I say that every year, lol!

So do you guys dress for your office climate or the outside temperature?
