Pretty Prints

I finally decided to wear one of the dresses I purchased from my spring florals post.  I was so torn this morning trying to decide which belt to wear with it; I changed from yellow, to red, back to pink.  I am still thinking the red looked better but of course I was running late so I stuck with the pink.  I love the pattern of this dress and I can’t wait to remix with a bright colored blazer or cardigan.  And speaking of florals I nabbed a really cute floral blazer on eBay! I also found a pleated floral skirt too, still no luck with the floral pencil skirt but I am thinking about making one using Mimi’s tutorial.  I have already ordered fabric to make a striped version of her skirt. Make sure you guys check out Mimi’s blog, her sewing skills are amazing and her style is impeccable.  I always look forward to her daily outfit posts!

I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this to you guys but I have dreams of making my own clothes one day.  I was gifted a fabulous sewing machine two years ago, and I have yet to make a thing. I even made a little sewing nook in my apartment, but real life took over and I didn’t have the extra time to dedicate to my new hobby.  I am really looking forward to diving back into sewing once I graduate, maybe even take a few classes.

Weekend Wear: Striped Mini

* Denim Jacket - Oldnavy * Tank - Target * Skirt - Forever 21 * Wedges - Dolce Vita for Target * Belt - Target *

I wore this outfit yesterday to go thrifting with Ashley and India. We found some great stuff, especially India that girl has got the touch when it comes to finding great clothes.  I found another midi skirt with pockets! I can't wait to show you guys.

And yes this skirt is a mini in my opinion!

Pink and Pinstripes

 * Cardigan - Target * Ruffled Tank - Oldnavy * Skirt - Target * Pumps - Steve Madden *
* Braclets - Gifted * Ring - Gifted *

* Blazer - H&M * Tank - Oldnavy * Trousers - Oldnavy * Pumps - Jessica Simpson *

The remixing continues!  I feel like it is getting harder to come up with new combinations or maybe I just want new clothes! Lol.  I had a thing for pink and pinstripes this week, which was completely unintentional.  Either way I really love how both these outfits turned out.  The leopard cardigan and pinstripe skirt seems like a complete contradiction, but I like that!  Sequins and pinstripe at work on a Thursday? I looked like I was ready for happy hour than a day at the office.  For me office outfits are way more fun with you push the envelope at little but still keep it classy.  I am still trying to figure out the best place to take my outfit pics since the time change has thrown me way off!  Maybe I will finally drag my tripod outside after work.  I am not sure if I am ready for the on lookers and questions, lol.

Blue Green

 *Blouse - H&M * Tank - Forever 21 * Skirt - NY&Co. * Belt - Express * Pumps - Call it Spring *
*Bracelets - Gifted * Ring - Gifted*

Good morning! Last week I purchased a new camera and I am still trying to figure out the perfect settings to take pictures on my balcony, and the time change isn't helping because it's still semi dark in the mornings *sigh* blogger problems.  So today is a one picture kind of a day.  I wasn't going to post at all BUT last night on Twitter I confessed that I have been lacking my normal styling mojo. Thanks to my west coast homie Gorgeous Puddin whom I refer to as Ms. Gorgeous suggested green color-blocking. Why didn't I think of that?! Crisis averted! Thank you Ms. Gorgeous =)

Now for the fun stuff!

The ladies and I want to see you there, you can find out more information about the event here.

Inspiration Recreation: Jadie

Our first Inspiration Recreation is from Jadie, this lovely lady was actually the brains behind this idea so it is befitting that she is featured first!  You can see my original post in this dress here.

" I recently found this multi-striped Old Navy dress on eBay for 30 bucks.  I paired it with some black Hanes cotton socks 4 bucks from Marshall's and some Jessica Simpson Booties 79.99 on sale at Macy's already from my closet.  I went with a straight hair look courtesy of my In-Styler! I opted for no jewelry as I wanted to keep it as simple as possible! Off I went to see Love Jones for a Q&A with the writer and director!! "

This dress is everything and more, you look fantastic!  Thank you so much Jadie for sharing your recreation with me and the readers of Curves and Confidence.

If you have recreated an outfit seen on Curves and Confidence send me a picture with a short description of your outfit to so I can feature you! Pictures must be good quality head to toe shots.

Trending: Spring Florals

I had an accidental shopping trip today to Ross.  I wandered into the store after picking up a new SD card from Radio Shack.  As soon and I walked in the door I saw nothing but floral dresses everywhere.  Since the store was fairly empty I took my time and went through the racks and picked out a few dresses.  Check out what caught my eye:

I loved the fit of this dress, and the ruching detail on the front and back.  I wish the straps were made differently.  Actually, this dress would be so hot if it were strapless.

On the hanger I loved this dress, not so much when I actually put it on.  The front pockets puffed up too much and stuck out on the sides.

Not necessarily a traditional floral print, this dress has smaller circular flowers making up the overall pattern.  I love the pattern and the hot pink belt is perfection! This lil mama came home with me.

I knew I was buying this dress before I even put it on.  I fell in love with the traditional silhouette, the front pleats, the hidden pockets and the print and color is beautiful!

As you guys can see you don't have to spend a ton of money to stay on trend if that's what you are into.  Save your hard earned cash for the timeless pieces you will have for years to come.  Next on my list: floral pants, and a floral pencil skirt. Who else will be rocking florals this spring?

Local Love: Dr. Patty's Dental Boutique

Dr. April Patterson aka Dr. Patty

Can you imagine visiting a dentist office that feels like a day spa?  Last night I had the opportunity to visit Dr. Patty's Dental Boutique, one word AMAZING! I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect and had no idea what a dental boutique was, but I was blown away with the decor and ambiance as soon as I walked through the door.  Dr. Patty not only specializes in cosmetic and general dentistry you can also take advantage of her spa services such as lash extensions, facials, body waxing, permanent make-up and facial rejuvenation.

Dr. Patty really is an inspiration for aspiring young professionals, and is an example of how hard work pays off.  I am glad I had the opportunity to make her acquaintance.  It is amazing how a brief encounter with someone can have a profound effect on you.  Experiences like this definitely keep me motivated to continue my education and push further in my own career.

If any of you South Florida ladies are interested in cosmetic/general dentistry or personalized beauty and spa services check out Dr. Patty at 646 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 3304.

What to Wear: Graduation Dresses

I am finally graduating this spring.  I am so excited, for one my family and friends are coming to celebrate with me and two my mom is staying two weeks.  She also agreed to let me dress her for my graduation, (yikes).  My mom does not dress up at all so I can't wait to see what she actually agrees to wear.  I am thinking a nice wrap dress and cute flats, can't go wrong with that.

Me on the other hand I plan on turning it out the entire weekend, right now I am mostly focused on my graduation dress.  I am sure my school will have some rules on what we can and can't wear but for now these have caught my eye:

All the dresses pictured are from Dorothy Perkins

The first two are my absolute favorite, I can have two dresses right? Yea I can, it's my day so I am allowed to be a little extra if I want to, lol.

Weekend Wear: Skater Dress

 * Skater Dress - Target * Bracelets - H&M/Forever 21 * Sandals - Report/Ross
* Purse - LV Speedy 35 * Sunnies - Forever 21 *

I tell yeah, never say never.  I said I would never wear a skater dress because all the ones I saw were too short.  Leave it to Target to make me out to be a lair!  I LOVE this dress, the length is perfect and the fit is amazing.  For all you ladies that want to try this trend the price is right at $20! If you aren't into stripes check these other prints and colors.  I don't know about you guys but Target never disappoints when it comes to cute casual clothes.

Orange Creamsicle

* Peplum top - NY & Co. * Skirt - Thrifted/Goodwill * Pumps - Steve Madden/DSW *
* Belt - Forever 21 * Watch - Fossil * Bracelet - Adriana Bijoux *

I received a great message from Jadie Y. with the following suggestion:

I absolutely LOVE YOUR BLOG! You have inspired me to be a better shopper rather than impulsive.  I never look at tags. UNTIL my girlfriend sent me your link.

My question to you is would you be open to make a section to include remakes of your outfits from your viewers.  I actually found the stripe old navy dress on eBay after seeing it on you and styled it.

Thank you so much Jadie for you kind words and I think this is a wonderful idea, if you have recreated any outfits seen on Curves and Confidence send me a picture with a short description of your outfit to so I can post it! Pictures must be good quality head to toe shots. If you want to participate but prefer not to have your face shown we can work that out as well. Now hurry up and email those pics so I can see what you guys are working with!

So today’s outfit is a different variation of this one, I changed up the skirt and belt for a more colorful look which I love! I really feel like an orange creamsicle, lol. I think I need one more peplum top; I wanted this outfit from NY&Co. but it's sold out online hopeful the outlets will have some straggler pieces left. I need that white and black color blocked skirt!

My shopping budget starts over today!!! Perfect timing for the It Girl Expo.
