Super Easy DIY: Denim Vest

Hey guys! I found this great denim jacket at the Goodwill yesterday for $5. I originally wanted it because I had been searching for a light color denim jacket. However, I became discourage when I saw it was an extra small...but I figured what the hell I'm gonna try it on anyway...too small to wear as a jacket, lol.

But never one to give up, I got a brilliant idea. Turn this baby into a cropped denim vest! That's exactly what I did tonight!

All you need is a a really sharp pair of scissors, I used my fabric scissors.

I cut the bulk of the sleeve off and then continued to cut off the excess on the shoulder seam, I kinda pushing the tip of the scissors under the seam cutting it really close.

One side down, one more to go!

All finished, took about 5 minutes because I stopped to take pics, super easy. Cropped denim vest for $5!

Accessorizing

Who doesn't love accessories...I absolutely can NOT leave my house without something on...ring, belt, earrings, bracelets...something! Since I kept today's outfit pretty simple, I figured I could overload on my accessories. This statement necklace was originally a part of my Cleopatra costume seen here, and it was less than $12 at JcPenney! Peacock earrings and bracelets are from Forever 21 where most of my jewelry accessories come from. Forever21 always has really cute stuff and the pricing is great. Of course their stuff doesn't last forever but if taken care of properly you will definitely get some miles out of their jewelery. A few of my other favorite spots to get accessories are Kohls, Target, Dot's, H&M and Bijuju. I have a bad habit of taking my stuff off in my car, at work or home and it ends up getting misplaced. I hate when I go to look for something and it's gone! Can anyone suggest a really good way to organize jewelry, something that will accommodate a lot of stuff.

Next week I will be celebrating my Blog Anniversary! One week of amazing giveaways! I just want to thank everyone the follows me new and old, I love you guys! A few of the giveaways will be open to my international followers as well!

Tropical Paradise

Have you ever purchased something for a specific reason and never wore it? I do this all the time, case in point my lovely palm frond dress. Isn't it beautiful? This dress was intended for my N.C. vacation last summer but thanks to a special someone, I wasn't able to go. So this beauty has been aging in my closet since then, tags still attached.

So Last night I was going through my nightly ritual and also unpacking my suitcase from Puerto Rico...I know, I know, I am the worst when it comes to unpacking. I picked up this dress and decided she was the lucky winner. She has now been transformed from a vacation dress to a work dress; surviving being tossed in the Goodwill pile with the others. This dress make me feel like I should be on lido deck of a cruise ship sipping something fruity, unfortunately that won't be happening today.

I just realized my entire outfit is Forever 21! and I decided to let my forehead breathe a little no more bangs, it's too hot!

First Day of Summer

It's the first day of summer, I completed my Applied Case Studies Management class and I got an A! Now I only have class on Monday's and Saturday's, so instead of staying home I decided I should go out and start out my summer at the movies. Summer movies are the best...here is my summer line up Bad Teacher, Transformers, Smurfs, Captain America and Friends with Benefits. What's even better it's only $6 on Tuesday, can't beat that!

My outfit is simple and casual, wearing a denim jacket to the movies is a must...it's always freezing in the theater. So how are you guys starting out your summer's? Oh and I saw Green Lantern...it was okay, kinda long. They took too long with the character development, but overall it was okay for $6, lol.
