Wrap Star

"Why haven't I worn this dress and these shoes together before today?" This is what I asked myself this morning as I was getting dressed. Sometimes it is the simplest of things that make you feel good and look good. One of my favorite dress, favorite shoes and my favorite necklace made a perfect union today.

Wrap dresses are classic and I love them. I need more of them. Okay, I don't need more I want more. Well not too many more maybe just one or two. Okay, maybe just one more since I just realized I have three already, lol.

Okay, I have an exam in Leadership and Supervision tonight. I will try and keep myself away from my Google Reader for the rest of the day so I can go over my notes. Doubt that's gonna happen but it sounded good. Hope everyone has a great day!

Bag Lady

It's the weekend! This week seemed to fly by, yes! I plan to indulge in some much needed retail therapy tomorrow. I have been on a self-imposed shopping hiatus until May 1st...I haven't purchased any clothing in the past 25 days! However, I am giving myself a free pass due to an unexpected trip I have coming up.

I got my hands on some pretty good coupons so I think I will make out pretty good tomorrow. I love shopping with a purpose.

As you can see my purse is the star of today's outfit. I love this bag! To think I almost didn't get it because the person I was shopping with didn't care for it. However being the Fashionista that I am I saw the potential.

I am still loving my Dolce Vita for Target wedges...I have another pair, in pewter, on the way. I also purchased the gladiator style wedge. I wanted to like them so much, but the fit was way off so they had to go back. I can give up comfort for cuteness, but not for a wedge.

Flower Power

This dress made me happy today...I have been feeling kind of down the past couple days and this dress gave me the pick me up I needed. Let me tell you the back story...I purchased this dress for my 29th birthday to wear to work. I didn't have anything special planned that day besides dinner with my work family. I was so surprised at the out pouring of love I received that day from my co-workers and family. I was really amazed that so many individuals took time out of their day to make me feel special. I truly felt loved and blessed that day...wearing this dress today brought back all those wonderful memories. Lots of smiles today!

Besides the good memories this dress is perfect for spring time.

Kiss me I'm Irish!

Happy St. Patty's Day! Better pics today...I made some adjustments to my cameras settings.

I just saw a segment on the Today show about the cheapest family in America...90% of their clothing is used. They shop exclusively at consignment stores and thrift stores. I didn't start thrifting until I jumped into the blogging world and now I am hooked. I haven't tried my hand at consignment stores yet but its on my to do list. Even the kids were on board with wearing used clothing, which is great. We all know there is a lot of pressure on kids to fit in and have the newest and latest everything.

I can definitely contest to the great deals that can be found at thrift stores, case in point the dress I am wearing today. This dress is one of my favorite thrifted purchases, Calvin Klein dress for $10. If you have the patience you can find some great deals at thrift stores.

5 under 50: Wedges

It's about the time ladies...the time change (spring forward) means we are only a few days away from the first day of spring. I know some of you are still enduring cooler temps but that doesn't mean you can't start working on your spring wardrobe. I love wedges because you can still get the height as if you were wearing a high heeled shoe but they are so much more comfortable. These are my cute and affordable picks for spring:

1. JcPenney - Call it Spring $44.99

2. JcPenney - Call it Spring $39.99

3. Kohl's - Simply Vera $29.99

4. Piperlime - Blowfish $49.00

5. Target - Dolce Vita for Target $29.99

Black and Yellow

I'm back in full effect! I missed you guys but I had to do some serious recuperating after Mardi Gras...I am all rested now. But I feel the beginnings of a cold coming on...sore throat, stuffy nose, sinus headache, I am trying to nip in the bud now!

My pics aren't the greatest today, I usually have great light in the morning, but the time change has left me in darkness until about 7:30am. I need to be out the door at 7:30am, so I will have to work something out.

On to the outfit and the hair! I finally got my black and white stripped blazer!!!!!! I saw this baby in H&M while I was in D.C. and almost literally dove across the room to snatch it up, seeing as it was the last one in the store. I am still kicking myself for not getting the Anthropologie Hello Sunday Blazer but this is a nice substitute.

After the hair fiasco with beautyshoppers.com I decided to purchase a wig locally, sometimes this is cheaper. I was able to negotiate with the lady at the store and got the hair for the online price. I am wearing Janet Collection Utopia 100% Pure Remy Human Hair. I got it right this time ladies, lol. They didn't have my usual color #1b so I went darker and got a #1, its growing on me. This wig is not a "big" as the other one but I like it just the same. So are you guys feeling the darker color?

Mean what you say...

This post is in reference to my new hair post I did a couple days ago. I recently purchased a lace front wig from beautyshoppers.com. This was my second time using the site and I had been pleased with their service previously. My issue is with their false advertising...I purchased my new wig under the assumption that it was a remy human hair wig as stated on the website. Remy hair has all the cuticles going in the same direction, and all intact. The hair has a natural flow if all the cuticles are in the same directions and tangles less.

Once I got my wig, I tried it on and loved it. I washed it, which I do with all my new wigs, and I styled it. While styling the wig I noticed the ends of the hair felt really ragged. I figured once I curled the hair the ends would straighten out, and they did.
Hair turned out beautifully as you guys saw, I posted pics immediately. The next day I was out the door headed to ATL. No problems, the first day...hair was fine. The second day, the hair started to tangle horribly in the back of the wig. I kept having to finger comb it to get rid of the tangles. Worrying about hair was not a priority since I was at Mardi Gras to have a good time...I threw a braid in my hair and kept it moving. Day three, more tangles and the hair kept bunching up...braided it again. At this point I am pissed, even non-remy hair shouldn't have behaved like that.

On my way back to ATL I called beautyshoppers.com and informed them I was not satisfied with my wig. I explained to her that a remy human hair wig shouldn't tangle like that. The customer service rep says to me..."that wig isn't remy human hair, actually it's not human hair either" at this point I am livid. I say to the rep that the wig is advertised as Remy Human Hair...she tells me "it's not remy human hair unless it says 100% remy hair" Then she proceeds to tell me that I should have followed the directions that came with the wig. Almost like the fact that I was sold a wig that was actually synthetic but listed as human hair didn't matter! It was my fault because I didn't follow the directions to the T. I am defiantly pissed because I purchased this hair under the assumption that I was getting a remy human hair wig...why advertise it as that if it isn't!

As a consumer I want to be able to make an informed decision on what I purchase. I am entitled to that option if am spending money with your company. Trick advertising or selective marketing is bad business. Either the wig is human hair or it isn't. I shouldn't have to make a guess as to what I am buying. So after a lot of back and forth they agreed to refund my money.
I wasn't going to post anything about this but I got some many inquires about my hair and where I purchased it. I wanted to give you guys the full info. If anyone is still interested in purchasing it, it is not 100% human hair...I think it may be 50/50 which is a human hair-synthetic mix. I wouldn't recommend any type of heat styling, you should wear it as it. I did purchase a new wig locally today. Janet Collection Uptopia, 100% Pure Remy Human Hair wig. Pictures to come =)

Sorry for the long post...

Weekend Wear: New Hair

Ok, this is not really an outfit post for weekend wear but I am wearing my new hair and loving it!

I am headed to New Orleans to partake in the Mardi Gras madness...small hiatus. I promise to take lots of pics! See you guys when I get back =)
